He is not creepy, he is the sweetest! He is a true Ben Torah, honestly committed to maximize his learning every day, and the most loving, caring, and devoted husband ever.

R’ Chanina Hertzberg was the menachem of Yeshiva of South Shore in Hewlett (5 towns) until he was no longer to work. He was an expert mechanech, and an incredible person.

Would you name a child after a fictional character in the first place? I wouldn’t. I might not name after someone else because of name association though.

Not after ‘Necessarily but since I don’t know any chanina’s in real life, and the only one I know I don’t have have positive association with, I wouldn’t use

Now I would use Akiva!! Who doesn’t love him?

Growing up, I knew a couple of girls and several boys with this name. So, it can be for either gender but usually considered to be a male name.

We have an Akiva. Just a heads up, in a wonderful way, every Akiva I know is a strong personality, so just be prepared!

More palatable to me than Chanina would be Elchanan or Chananel.

My nephew is Chananya and Chanani is his nickname (he's still little). I like that better than Chanina personally. I know other Chananyas too. But no Chaninas (just the song lol)
