Can anyone recommend a sleepaway camp for Bais Yaakov type girls with an out of town feel? Where most of the girls are from out of town communities, low maintenance, not into brand name clothing, etc.

I came here to post Kolos, which I now third. I have a cousin who lives OOT, extremely not fancy or into any brands etc, who's gone there the past few summers and absolutely loves it and spends the rest of the year keeping up with her close camp friends. I have heard that it fills up early and can be very hard to get in, so if interested, please make sure to apply early.

Also an OOT first time camp mom. I never heard of kolos, but sounds interesting. Where is it? What hashkafa/type goes there? Is it July or August?

Camp Sternberg, all the way.
But you need to be prepared for a big mix of girls. From yeshivish, to just plain frum, to light modern orthodox.
If you want to shelter your kids and keep with only right wing BY girls, then its not for you.
But they are super down to earth, not into brand names, very happy chilled girls
