I make my husband breakfast, lunch and dinner.

He cut out a lot of carbs.

He lost a few pounds but he is still soo heavy.

it is so so frustrating!!! If I don't make him food he would binge eat.

He is short and fat. I just wish he was slim.........

you need to move on from this.
until he really wants to lose the weight and put in the work there is little you can do.

Even if he does want to, there's nothing you can do. It's not always biologically possible to lose weight while retaining the ability to function.

Does he exercise? Does he snack after dark? Does he want to lose the weight?

You have to love him the way he is now. Wishing for him to be slim will just make it worse. He'll lose weight if and when he wants to.

Keep cooking healthy food for him, but accept that DH is heavy.

DH may be snacking junk food.

Or maybe he has one of those metabolisms where is is extremely hard to lose weight.

It is what it is.

My sympathies.

My DH is very ill. He had a minor heart attack and has diabetes and chronic kidney disease. He is 100 pounds overweight.

I am doing my best to provide tasty health food on his very restricted diet.

Nevertheless, I cannot do anything about his portion control and he has not lost any weight.

There is just nothing to be done if a person doesn't want to bother.

I also have food issues and understand how difficult it is and how difficult it is to watch someone you love not take care of themselves.

the most he would do is go walking with me at night. he is extremely busy these days.

He snacks on fruit if I cut up for him.

Yes he wants to loose weight.
He lost tona of weight when he was on Sadkhin diet but its not maintainable and he gained all his weight back.

They are a healthier snack than many others, but not amazing.

My dh lost a lot of weight when I did. I followed a strict diet and he started one too. I don't know. I think he wanted to keep up with me

Stop wishing he looked different, thinking that is not helping your marriage or him lose weight. Let it go. Love him at every size just as you would want to be.

if HE wants to lose weight ask him how you can support him in this.

This is not something you have any control over.

I’ll be happy to send you the PDF I have. Sometimes people react to sweetener like in protein bars.

Some protein bars are glorified candy bars. They can have a lot of calories. You have to be a smart consumer.

You need to be mindful of calories.
Chicken and veg have calories- they cannot be eaten unlimited.
Also another thing that tripped me up.... dressings condiments are loaded with calories a small squirt is ok but be mindful
'healthy snacks'/protein bars- some of them are only healthy if used as a meal replacement.

Current science shows that calories in calories out is not the best diet model.

What type of calories you are eating is more important. Carbs are the worst.

Protein and vegetable calories are very good. Don't worry about chicken and vegetables.

Did you hear about Noom? I lost 30 lbs in 4 months while using the app it's an amazing tool!
My husband lost 28 lbs as well!
It's a cute app where you log your food and they give you a calorie budget based on your goals and your current situation. You also a few small lessons to go through every day where they discuss the phycology of weight loss and weight gain, why you eat certain foods and when you eat them, how to change your habits and achieve long time results, very interesting!
You can search them on Google or if you want you can pm me

You gotta stop taking responsibility for him. He’s an adult.

Normally I'd say stay out of it. But if he wants to lose weight, asked for your help, and you're willing, that's another story.
I suggest he sees a nutritionist, and you can follow specific guidelines meant for his body for cooking and portions.
Good luck!

The biggest problem I see here is that you are intertwining your emotions with his weight loss, or lack thereof.

You need to step back and let go. This is something only he can do for himself. Be his cheerleader, but also stop wishing he were something he is not. Wouldn't you want him to accept and desire you just the way you are? Doesn't he deserve the same?
