It depends what age the boy is. I would put it on a very young boy ( baby/ toddler)

I would put it on a boy. My daughter has a shiny blue coat but it’s shinier and a more feminine cut. This cut and color combination feel too boy to me.

Totally- my own son is also 8 and has shiny black that both the girls and boys r wearing here. The blue is more boyish
