I just found out from my local jewish fish shop that of all the farmed fish he sells herring is wild caught.

my kids love schmaltz herring WITH vegetables but its swimming in unhealthy veg oil and has sugar and other unhealthy ingredients.

anyone has a healthy recipe for schmaltz herring with clear instructions how to make it and a evo oil that tastes good for it to ''swim'' in?

Extra light olive oil is tasteless and odorless and would work well for this.
