If the social worker is a proper professional, there’s no way you can get the girl “in trouble” with her. She will either deem it important and use the information to get her the help she needs, or deem it unimportant and let it slide. If the girl has a history of eating disorders then there definitely is a possibility this could be important information.

I'd just casually mention, at the end of the time, "I'll need X amount for my family for Shabbos, here's 4 for you to take home.". You can also gift her with a recipe book, and help her write in her favorites each week.
And it's worth mentioning to the SW, because if she's comforting herself with sweets, she may be in emotional pain that needs more support than this program is giving her.

I would put a limit on it. Start saying this week I need x for my family so you are welcome to take y. There is no reason she should ever pick the amount.
