That game got me suddenly remembering random history facts that never helped me in life but are still interesting to learn.

I’m going to dump random history terms/names and dates, let’s who know what I’m talking about. NO googling! Then take a turn to drop some terms for us to decipher.

Here goes:

Sistene Chapel
Agora and acropolis
The Sun King
Trojan horse
Battle of the bulge
Greek Orthodox Church
5 wives
95 theses

Here goes:

Sistene Chapel - famous church that Leonardo Da Vinci designed
Agora and acropolis - I think Roman. The Acropolis was where the gladiators performed?

Trojan horse - A battle tactic used by the Greeks
Battle of the bulge - Famous battle from WW2
Greek Orthodox Church - Similar to the Catholic church. Also Russian Orthodox.
5 wives -
95 theses - I think Martin Luther wrote that to prove the correctness of reforming the Catholic church

How did I do?

I like all history too, but being a Brit my American history knowledge is weakest; we don't learn much of it. Jewish history and British history are my strong points!

1. I was debating between Michelangelo and Leonardo. I did know it's famous for the artwork on the domed ceiling.

2. I do know the whole story of the Trojan horse just didn't type it out.

Do you know what the 5 wives are?

Eli Whitney invented the cotton gin
Oliver Cromwell took over after one of the British civil wars I think after they killed the king.
1066- was that the signing of the magna Carta?

My turn:
Defenestration of Prague
The spider king
Founding father born in the Caribbean
Carpetbaggers
Charlemagne

I'll add a few that haven't been answered yet.

Eli Whitney invented the cotton gin, which had a huge impact on the economy of the time, and had ramifications for enslaved people.

The Visigoths and Vandals both successfully attacked the failing Roman empire.

Sojourner Truth was a former slave turned abolitionist who was first to win a court case saying her son belonged to her, not the "master".

1066, the Norman conquest of England, which had a huge impact on how we all speak English today.

Oliver Cromwell, a leader in the British civil war, and of the government that followed.

ETA, sorry about the cross post.

Founding father born in the Caribbean would be Alexander Hamilton.

You are good!! The two you left out are American history!

Eli Whitney was a famous US inventor. Patented the cotton gin which really pushed forward the industrial revolution.

Sojourner Truth was a famous x-slave who became an abolitionist/fought for women's rights.

I'm also stumped by the 5 wives... Superwify, did you mean 6 wives? As in those of Henry VIII? (Catherine of Aragon, Anne Boleyn, Jane Seymour, Anne of Cleves, Catherine Howard, and Catherine Parr)
