A young rabbi and his family invited us for Shabbos dinner. They have a baby, and I would like to give the older sister a gift. She looks just like my friends when we jumped rope, a nice girl. My husband thinks a jumprope is a ridiculous gift. Please, I need ideas. Thanks!

Poster: I can spend up to $25.
My husband has a stash of new kids' science books, and I'm sure he's looking for one in that pile.

A jump rope is a great gift. A five-year-old may still be growing into it (from my perspective as a klutzy kid). Certainly by lower elementary grades, it would be very much appreciated.
Science books are also great.

A jump rope sounds great. Or a children's book from the judaica store. Maybe a card game.
You're very sweet for thinking of the kids!
