My friend's son is iyh BH becoming a bar mitzvah in a couple months. He is autistic, barely talks, does read I think. What kind of gift can I give?

Does he have interests? Maps, history, geography? There might be some great Jewish books he'll enjoy.

Ask his mother about his interests. One thing I can think of is the intelliglobe ll an interactive globe that is fun to use and educational. Or a giant bean bag. Naki radio. Instant Camera. Maybe a special communication tablet if he doesn't have one yet. Binoculars. Again it's worth asking what he's into otherwise he might never look at it.

My autistic kid was just bar mitzvahed. Some people gave cash or gift cards which ds doesn't understand but we could use. My siblings chipped in for headphones since ds loves music so much. One of his teachers gave him a bag of sensory toys. His OT gave him chewlery. What is the bar mitzvah boy interested in?
