Hi all! My 4 year old has been dry during day time for a long time now, and even at night for at least a few months. Over the past two weeks he started having accidents again, both during day and night, but very frequently. Any suggestions? Could it be related to any physiological issue? Strep? I don't think he suddenly got more busy and started forgetting to go to the bathroom....Smile Thanks in advance!

Is there a change in home dynamics? In school?

Check for strep. I came the dr with a kid who I was positive it's a uti. Dr said more likely to be strep. He was right. I since learned it's a common symptom in young kids.

You should also check if she is constipated. This can lead to wet accidents.

He's only 4. As much as he's already trained, it's normal for a 4 year old to have relapses.
I remember when this happened with my child, I just re-did what I had done in the first place to train her. (In our case, I bought a pack of chocolate lentils and gave her one every time she went to the bathroom, and was a bit more in-tune with her going to the bathroom than I had been, not just leaving it to her to remember to go. If there were night accidents, I took her to the bathroom before I went to bed, for a night or two.)
As he's already trained, it will not be as intense training as the first time around, of course. Just a re-iteration.

Are you seeing an increase in frequency and/or urgency? I had this with a 3.5 year old and doctor said there was some external irritation. Used Bactroban for a few days and it cleared up. Maybe check if you see any redness.

This.
It’s the only symptom my daughter gets with it.
