My niece had one on the side of her nose which grew big but then disappeared completely after a few years. My son also had a small one on his chest which grew smaller over time and then went. So it seems common that they do go away completely.

Manhattan is not a hospital lol
And anyways ask your pediatrician who he recommends .
We had a strawberry and never even saw a dermatologist . Pediatrician was confident it was a hemangioma and would go away on its own, which it did .

Yes we saw him and he is "the" expert in hemangiomas. He's also great with kids.

Hemangiomas should not be removed. Please see a pediatric dermatologist who specializes in hemangiomas (most likely someone affiliated with a major pediatric hospital) for the most up to date and least invasive treatment. My daughter took propranolol for her hemangioma. However, if the hemangioma is only a cosmetic issue and likely to go away on its own, they'll probably recommend not treating it.

can I ask what propranolol is ? I'm assuming Dr Yan recommended this?

One of my children had a 'strawberry' birthmark on the stomach area. The pediatricians told me not to touch it, & it will disappear before the child will be old enough to be bothered by it. Took a few years and it's bh gone.

my Dr sent me for an ultrasound of the back since the location is on the spine and Im freaking out. she took a zillion images and wouldn't give me results. usually I can get the sonographer to tell me something.
I won't have results for a few days.

anyone else sent for an ultrasound?? tell me this is routine !

Relax. Even if it's in a sensitive area the medication should work quickly.

My Baby has one on her leg and the doctor told me it will grow bigger and then slowly go away, so don't worry...

no. It was actually not even visible at birth. Only came out later, dark red and thick, but saw myself how it became bigger and now starting to get smaller again

My child had a few hemangiomas. They stopped growing at about a year. The smaller ones pretty much disappeared, but the bigger one is still there after 10 years. It's not noticeable, so right now don't feel like it's worth doing laser.
