I’ve heard that multiples before mashiach is that a certain number of neshamos have to be born before mashiach comes and multiples is a way to speed that up. Who’re the coming of mashiach.
Not sure if old wives take
Niddah - “ Rabbi Yossi says, “Ben David will not arrive until all of the neshamot have been ‘finished’ from the guf.””

Especially dairy.
The people I know who have unexpected, not-in-the-family twins love milchigs and eat a lot of cheese.

So I said, doesn't run in the family. I know a few people who have no multiples on either side of their family (not mother or father) and had twins. Doc told one person it's a 1 in 10,000 chance to conceive twins without ever having used hormonal BC and not while nursing (apparently conceiving while nursing increases chances of twins) and not having it in your family history. This doc doesn't have his numbers right though because I know of two more people like that. And no fertility treatments either.

1 in 10k?? This doctor (or whoever repeated... ) is WAAAY off with his numbers

I had surprise twins and I don’t eat cheese! So much for that theory!!!! 🤣

Natural triplets are a 1 in 10,000 chance. Twins happen in one of every 250 pregnancies. Since many twin pregnancies don't make it, the increase in twins may be because mothers now eat more dairy and other sources of protein, and are stronger. Also because more women have children when they are older and more likely to conceive twins.

LEt each women her privacy during pregnancy and afterwards as well.
Each woman's fertility is hers alone. And her husband. But thats it.

I know fraternal twins are increasing because of mother's age. Does increased maternal age increase the instance of identical twins? Just curious.

Hmm well my mother's and grandmothers generation had 12-16 children without multiples. Now people are having just 8-10 with multiples so I don't see how that is an answer.

Why can't all these answers be the same?
It's a sign of Mashiach/a way to send down more neshamos, and the means with which it's being achieved to look like teva are fertility treatments, more hormones in our food, older mothers, heathier mothers, etc ...
