Why do we use the term 2 year old ..

specifically when we want to refer to specific actions (or hopefully not) someone as being immature ?

Because at around age two, give or take half a year, a child starts to realize he's an individual, and then he starts to test limits. he thinks he's twelve and wants to do things he's not capable of doing, then has a fit when he's not allowed to do them. He swings from being demanding and whiney to being clingy and weepy. He's prone to tantrums. He throws things, he refuses to listen to reason.

Something immature? Please clarify. I've never heard anyone refer to an unripe avocado as being like a two-year old.
