We are overdue for bar mitzvah pictures (I'm embarrassed to say how long ago the bar mitzvah was!), for various reasons we missed the nicest outdoor seasons, but I'd really like to just go ahead and do the pics already...
Any ideas for a good outdoor setting?
Or are we best off going indoors?
Also, although each child is beautiful, we have a few challenges to work with -
one being that there are no cute little toddlers in this shoot - it's kids aged 16 down to 7 (mostly boys), one of them a lot of acne, and one has an awkward smile when it comes to photos. Theyre not sporty, so I can't have them in a candid ball tossing mode.
To be honest the whole thing is stressing me out. More and more time passes, they're getting older, but I keep pushing it off, because I don't know how best to shoot their pics!
Please help!

Just take the pics . Tomorrow. And who cares if they’re not perfect. You’ll be so happy in six months looking back.

But now the background is all bare trees... how do I get a good outdoor pic in this season?

Are you asking about taking the pictures yourself or hiring a photographer?

Do it inside, on the couch some sitting and some standing behind.

Find an area of a park or building that has high evergreen hedges if you’d like a green background

You’ll still have good lighting outdoors. A cloudy day is best so the shadows aren’t harsh and the light is filtered so it’s softer.

I'd do some nice regular indoor couch pictures

Hiring a photographer.
Our house is in need of a bit of fixing up, I guess our couch is nice enough, though it has green in it, is that a problem?

Evergreen sounds like a good idea.

The other problem is getting my mesivta boy to be present at the right time, preferably during daylight hours...

Id go anywhere outdoors, a nearby park is nice.
its beautiful to have a winter background, bare trees and all. it can come out very classy in formal clothes.

If you are hiring, your photographer will have location ideas. If they aren’t a beginner don’t worry about bare trees, when you know how to use a camera it can be a beautiful backdrop. Some of my most best pictures were taken outside with bare pictures. ( spoken as a photographer )

For mesivta boys, I do Friday.

You got to be super organized.

If you are in Brooklyn, I’d suggest industry city for pictures.

Ask your dr. For retin-a to treat teenage acne-that stuff is good
