Addressed in the thread when it was first posted, don't worry everyone else was up in arms too!

It's more Chava's personality to want to just keep herself busy and useful and not have to interact with the bochurim more than necessary. She didn't want them in the kitchen much.

It has to do with a signal prearranged with the Cohens. IY"H it will be re-explained in the next piece.

I did get the chocolate spread reference,
They had arranged with rebbetzin that of they order a white spread and another spread (forgot which one) its a sign that they need help.
Can't wait for the next part!

Hopefully will get to it one of these days! I do have the rest of the story blocked out until the happy ending (though I never figure out the details until I actually write it). Wish it didn't have to sink so low on the priority list, I do enjoy writing!
