My 8 month old needs to gain weight and is extremely picky. Really doesn't like being spoon fed baby mush. Loves Cheerios and cereal. Today I gave tiny pieces of ww bread with natural pb and that went over well.
I need more ideas. Veggies are too mushy and don't make it all the way to the mouth.

Thanks.

my babies all ate avacado nicely. First scraped with a spoon, then small cubes. Also in bread.
My current baby is my first that won't take any avacado at all.
Instead of baby mush, many babies prefer regular oatmeal, as it has texture. I like using the packets, as the instant oats have smaller pieces so easier for babies, but still some texture. I add boiling water, a sprinkle salt, a bit of sweetener of choice (no honey!!), and a nice spoon of peanut butter if extra calories is needed. I actually plan on trying this for my own picky baby tonight or tomorrow. I may even add some powdered formula to make it even more satisfying. She's formula fed, and sleeps through the night when well stocked.

You can also add olive oil or avacado oil to lots of foods.

Won't touch avocado.
I already give oatmeal. Maybe I'll add some nut butter.
Thanks!

I just tried the oatmeal with a spoon of natural peanut butter. My 9 month old loved it!
I noticed now that you wrote finger foods.

I've done tiny pieces of ww bread with peanut butter, and she eats it herself.
Small pieces potato kugel
cheerios
pieces of banana
yogurt bags/pouches
