my sons winter jacket got a small rip in the back of his jacket on the outer lining.
you can see abit of wadding.
it can't be sewn together.
any way of bonding it in a way it shouldn't be noticeable?

If you want the least visible, you might be able to put some interfacing on the inside with a stabilizing backing (basically patching the inside of the lining instead of the outside). Do you have a picture of the rip? It would be easier to give advice if we could see it.
Visible mending is very trendy though, so you could also fix it in a contrasting color if you can’t find another solution you’re happy with.

Visible mending. Apply a strip of duct tape in contrasting color across the entire back of the jacket. Continue to the front if desired. If the jacket has trim in a different color, use duct tape that matches. If you can get reflective tape, so much the better. It’ll make your ds visible to vehicles when he walks in the dark.
