Is there a source for this? My daughter has 6 teeth at 8 months. Obviously, no one chooses when their child gets teeth- it happens on its own timeline. Do people just tell parents whose kids get teeth later that it's better to make them feel better?

No sources. This is what my dentist told me. But I have heard from a few mothers about their children who got teeth young and they have many cavities from a young age...
I certainly didn't need to be made to feel better - why should I care if they got their teeth later?

My whole family got teeth very late, and we barely have cavities and seem to have less teeth issues overall. Dentists have always said the teeth seem stronger when they come in late. That being said we can't really choose so it is what it is.
