Anyone know how I'm meant to check red lentils? I've never used them before and am trying to make a red lentil soup.
I bought a bag and it looks like there are white curvy things with black spots on them. But they're on all the lentils. All of them. I threw it out and went back out and bought another bag.
Then, when I came home I realized it had the same thing!
Is that normal?
I can't find anything on the star-K website. And when I searched, I found a youtube video but it was only in Hebrew which I couldn't understand. Please help!

I looked at the lentils again with a magnifying glass! You are right! Its part of the lentil. My soup is now cooking! So so much appreciate your help!
