The one on the LES used to be. I undertand you can still get ices from them, though; that is frm any BR. Check one of the online guides to be sure.

Aren't most of the ice creams at Baskin Robbins Kosher? Many places have lists of the flavors that are Kosher.

The store should have a Kashrus certificate on the showcase. It typically lists all the flavors that are NOT kosher.

well, ice cream is commonly served in a cone, isn't it? a cone has to have hashgocho. and what about the scooper ?

at least ices are self contained

You don't have to have a cone, and the scooper is cold.

baskin robbins has maybe 1 or 2 flavors with marshmellows that are NOT kosher ... everything else is ... including the cones & the cakes ... the letters usually indicate the flavors you need to avoid...

I once said that to my husband, who used his next breath to accuse me of being a heretic.

When I met my husband he told me he wouldn't eat in Baskin Robbins on the off chance that one of the non-kosher flavors* (There is usually a max of ONE in any given store at any given time) got mixed in with the kosher ice cream if the server forgot to rinse the scooper in between use as they are required to do. Needless to say, I can be persuasive and overbearing, and my husband now eats Baskin Robbins. I don't think most of the women here will appreciate this story, but I am not ashamed.

*I believe they are Rocky Road, Bubble Gum, Grape, Bailey's Irish Cream, and any other ice cream that contains a well known corporate ingredient that you know to be unkosher.

dh is/was a Carvel junkie and has been serially mortified that each and every one in Brooklyn seems to have lost/given up their hechshers. There seems to be only one left, on CIA and Avenue Y -- what a shlep. But for him its worth it and Baskin and Robbins is a distant second. Although I do not think that influenced his decision about eating their, at all.
