I've lived in the heart of the frum community in Dallas for 18 years. Please come check it out. We have an amazing, warm, accepting, beautiful, friendly community with good infrastructure!

Are the Dallas schools masking this year? Are there 4 bedroom houses less than 500k? I’d also love to hear more about Plano, as I think it’s less urban than the main Dallas community. Thanks!

I used to live there and in Cleveland Heights you will have very low level ghetto people as your neighbors. If you are ok with your children hearing f words as they walk down the street, its a great place for that.
Cleveland heigts changed a lot in past few years much safer and other neighborhoods as well university heigts and beachwood very safe

Did you put your housing requirement and Budget into your original query? I don’t recall seeing it

Idk about Dallas, but from what I understand, many yeshivish oot schools aren’t masking. I’m actually pro-mask. I’m very much the minority among the frum community. I work in public school and have to mask. My kids’ various schools do not mask. The MO schools in town do mask.

I did not. My mistake. It’s somewhat flexible, but we’re likely priced out of Florida for this reason.

May I ask which community this is?

my relative just bought a house in Dallas for $550, with a pool, and I think more than 4 bedrooms. (Maybe houses are less without a pool?)

Not sure exactly which area though, but I don't think Plano.

Def a red community, ppl in her shul carry guns. Surprised

I don’t think many people on this site have any understanding of red vs blue especially as to what it means for them.

Lol, a right-to-carry state would be a bonus for us as we currently own but cannot carry in our state.

Why wouldn’t people understand red vis a vis blue?
Personally glad many are carrying in shuls.
Look at what just happened in poway and Fort Worth.
Many shuls have upped security and training. Sad but necessary.

I wasn’t speaking about guns necessarily. I was. Thinking more of those who move to Florida and wonder why they don’t get the same services and benefits they got in NY. That may not impact OP but it’s come up on this site

Interesting because our experience has been that the frum communities are red bubbles in blue states.

Again interesting and reflective of different experiences and priorities. Post Holocaust our family had been gun trained legally for generations.

I totally understand what you mean and I am definitely coming from a different direction entirely. We despise the mentality of relying on government for services. That’s actually what we’re trying to get away from. I’m not currently in tristate area, but my community lines up for free food boxes 3x a week and they grovel for govt funding in the schools. This socialist mentality is what we hate.
We’re about as “red” as you can get. Naturally, FL would be our first pick, but I’m pretty sure the housing is too expensive for us.

Question about this -- I'm from a nearby state and we have often thought of moving to Dallas. However, I have been told it's very snobby and classist, and the one holiday we went to a shul there, that was definitely true. Any insight?

How is Phoenix/Scottsdale dealing with covid? Do they mask children in school? Are there good school options for boys elementary, middle and high school? What is the typical price range for a 4 br house?

op after seeing your post I wouldn't recommend Cincinnati or Cleveland or south bend because those places have edchoice vouchers and you don't seem like a proponent if that kind of thing.
