I’m getting rly bored of my shabbos day first course menu…. Anyone have some cool ideas?
Herring/ lox or GFish (we have Salamon fri night)
Deviled eggs
Side salads
Dips
A cabbage/ spinach or lettuce salad

Some people leave the chicken soup on the plata overnight and serve it again Shabbos day. In the winter it can make a good first course.

Liver plus cracker assortment, veggies, olives

Grilled eggplant and zucchini slices
eggplants in tomato sauce
eggplant caviar (grilled whole eggplant, peeled, blended with tchina or mayonnaise and garlic or browned onions)
chumus
tchina (mix tchina with lemon juice, water, garlic, salt, pepper)
Guacamole
israeli salad (diced tomatoes, cucumber, lemon juice, oil, salt pepper, you can add bell peppers, spring onions, celery stalks, chicoree)
sweet corn (either just corn with italian dressing, or add bell peppers, tomatoes, chicoree - you could also mix with tuna)
hungarian cucumber salad (with sugar)
eggs with onions
