So I'm bh starting a new job but I had booked airline tickets already for vacation.
Should I cancel the tickets or tell the person I have tickets.
I didn't say anything to him because I was dealing with someone else and I thought it's over and today she asked me if I can come in to start training.
I usually say if I have something scheduled before I take the job.
Like right now I'm job hunting, I'll say I can start next week but need a few days off for my kids midwinter end of January.
Tell them pronto, ask if it's ok, offer to cancel if it isn't,tell them you'd prefer not to cancel because you'll be out $$ (if that's true) but will take leave without pay. Obviously you can't expect them to pay you vacation days when you just started working for them.
