I need a new shaitel but I need to figure it out financially. Shaitel macher a won't give me a straight answer so I'm asking here. I heard they all went up in price. I live in NY. How much is a middle of the road weekday shaitel, like Sary, Irene, Bella (are those middle of the road in terms or cost and quality?).

If there are sales is it worth buying now (take from emergency fund) or better save a bit each montj for the next little while? I don't want prices to go up again. But it's not really an emergency.

Bottom line:
How much do I need to save/find money for?
Do I take from our emergency fund and pay ourselves back or do I save some each month?

Irenes without a lace front I think are 2000. The price usually goes up in January so you’re probably not going to see a price increase for 6 months- a year.
That’s the brand I would most recommend out of the others you listed.

I recently got a 21" Irene blunt for $1500. All sheitel marchers I asked gave me this price.

The 16 inch Sary is equivalent to the 23 inch Irene….

If you’re driving distance to the five towns. Red carpet wigs is a consignment wig shop that sells gently used and beautiful wigs for big discounts. She sells every brand, color, and style. I just bought a beautiful wig from there for much less than $1000. I highly recommend the place.

Oh, blonde is more expensive. Eva and Chloé blondes are nicer than Irene's and are about $1900.

Coloring/highlights
Removing wefts and ear pieces
Taking in or expanding the cap

The wig I bought was not lace.
Sheitel Macher added the baby hairs on her own and did not charge extra
The cap fit so no need to remove wefts or take in/expand

I paid $1,360 total.

21" is a bit below the shoulder on me. Not much - maybe 2 inches
