If you mean they're a week old, I personally wouldn't - I find beans go bad quite quickly. If it smells bad that means it's really bad, but if it smells good, it doesn't mean it isn't already on it's way.

If it's less than a week I'd rinse and use if they smell fine. If over then toss.

I wouldn't risk an upset stomach or even food poisoning in order to "rescue" a tin of beans.
