I would like a recipe for matzo balls that uses bread crumbs instead of matzo meal. Any tried and true ideas?

just eggs, breadcrumbs, salt, pepper.
it should not be hard, I.e. stop adding breadcrumbs as soon as the mixture is stable enough to form balls (with cold, wet hands).
The balls can soak up a lot of water, so it's better not to let them in the soup for too long. It's better to cook them only for a short while, take them out, and mix with soup only when serving.
