Hi my baby is about 2.5 months old. I’m looking for stuff to do with him in my house during the day. Trying to stimulate him while he’s not napping. What do this age kids do at the babysitter? I hope the arnt put in a swing all day! So far all I can think of is taking walks and activity mat

I put my baby on the floor. That's plenty of stimulation. Highly recommended!

I liked to put a mat on my very sturdy dining room table, and show my kids a book with lots of pictures. That way there is tummy time and I'm doing something too.

I also used to put my babies on my lap and leyn to them.

Look around for a local mommy and me class?

Play Peek-A-Boo

Move a toy slowly for him to track with his eyes.

Show him how to shake a rattle - there are very light weight ones.

Under supervision: tie a helium balloon to his hand or foot.
show him how the balloon moves when he waves his limb.

Place a boardbook near him so he can look at the pictures.

Get an Arch that has dangling toys to grab.

At that age, black and white pictures are great - look up motheringmindset on instagram for Jewish ones for free download. (I'm not her Wink but she is on here as well)

Beyond that, just looking around is so interesting for them and great for their brains! Mobiles can be good too but make sure it's not too stimulating, which I think most on the market are for that age...

At around 3 months I think is when they start to see color. So you can start introducing some colored toys/pictures/books then (there's a cute one from Judaica Press I think called My Torah Colors. My babies loved looking at the red page at that age), and combined with tummy time is great.

. Very creative suggestions but he can’t exactly hold a rattle yet or grab toys from an arch.

Haha thanks! The site is mymotheringmindset.com and it's a free download. It has some ideas in it of where to hang it.
Unrestricted floor time is fine! Toes out on a warm blanket. You can hang a mobile like the Montessori munari or the one by Wimmer Ferguson.
Offer a lightweight wooden rattle for first grasping
At 2.5 months baby should still be hanging out with you most of the time. Wake windows are still very short. Lots of skin to skin and nursing or cuddling time. Babywearing.
Mazel tov and feel good!

I just remembered another cute idea my babies loved at that age - hang a piece of parchment paper behind them so their feet hit it when they lie on their back and kick. They love the sound and it teaches them about cause and effect (plus it's super cheap and easy).

Yes I tucked it into the couch!
You can see a video here, and I have some play ideas here (shouldn't need app to view)

They make rattles that attach to the wrist like a bracelet.

And that age should be starting to swat at things within their field of vision.

I also liked to lie down on the couch with baby on my tummy, and read my books. Very peaceful. Baby gets snuggles, and I get book time.

No he's still too young. At this age his hands randomly swat and you can hang something within reach so he can bump into it accidently. I have a video of that.
He can barely hold a rattle especially a large or heavy one. Start with a simple plain wood ring like a craft ring.
After 3 months will be more intentional grasping. And 4m is bringing toys to mouth.
