Hiya looking for some inspo from experienced imas Smile

I'm not from USA. Surprised

We are super excited to be coming to New York soon IYH for a few weeks. We'll need to stay in NY for a week but looking for ideas of what to do for the second week or even half a week as a different type of vacation to NY.

Thought of flying to Florida etc but we'll have a toddler with us so once we factor in luggage and stroller etc its not cheap to fly.

Well have a rental car (any good recommendations?) so happy to drive somewhere too.

Thought of Niagra Falls USA side, but looks like it might be ice and the good attractions are not open. But maybe I'm mistaken?

We don't have a lot of money to spend as its costing us a lot in the first place to come to USA, but whilst we're there would love to have 2 trips in one.

So, any ideas??

Not so concerned about weather, though obviously warm would be nice.

Not too interested in a cultural vacation so not into museums or art etc. More into natural wonders and beautiful scenery, but if its freezing cold probably not practical with a toddler.

close to NY, so scenic, nice walks, the breakers is cool...

boston for 2 days, washington dc, savannah...

If you don’t want freezing cold then don’t go north or NY. So no Boston, Niagara or Newport. You got to think south. If you want a proper road trip consider heading as far down as Myrtle Beach, or Charleston

But remember when renting a car I think they only allow certain number of miles then they start charging a fortune.

It's definitely worth checking, but every rental we've ever gotten has included unlimited miles. I don't know if it's some special code DH uses, but we've never been limited or had to pay extra, so that hopefully won't limit OP's options.

Yes we'll rent a car with unlimited mileage.

Happy to combine a few nice places into a road trip but will have to end up back in NY for our return flights home.
