If you have enough money to live comfortably...

Would you leave a easy part time job to go to a full time job making $$$$$$ more...

just because you're bored and feel like your job doesn't treat you with enough respect?

Am I crazy?

Will working full time affect your quality of life? Parenting? Stress levels?

If part time vs full time doesn't make much of a difference to you in those areas I would switch.

The thing is, there's no real way of knowing in advance. Right now I definitely have tons of extra time and am very bored. But maybe my situation is better than I realize and I would miss it if I were working FT and stressed

Sounds crazy to me. No job will be perfect. Why work full time if you don't have to? You aren't guaranteed respect anywhere. You are doing a job...be thankful you get a decent paycheck and can work part time. You can get respect elsewhere.

Lots of variables to take into account.

But if it makes sense for your family etc. doesn't sound crazy.

Full time jobs without too much flexibility is really hard. There’s no time for your personal life at all. If this full time job has flexibility then maybe it’s worth it

Thank you, this is an important perspective for me to hear. I do get plenty of respect elsewhere, but I'm pretty depressed over my job situation.

There would be flexibility...but at the end of the day it's still a lot more work than I'm used to and only so many hours in the day

I think respect at a job is pretty important.
Not to say it overshadows everything else, but it's not "just a job".

How about looking for a different part time job?

My job is pretty unique...I make a good amount of money and benefits...I don't think I would be able to get another part time job at that level.

How will you guarantee you will get respect in the next job? Let's say you leave your cushy job and things don't turn out as you hoped.

There is a saying in the Torah "Ein Safeik Motzei V'adai"

You don't pick a maybe over a sure thing.

This Job is FOR SURE "cushy".

There is another saying:

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I would not leave.

I left a boring “pisom and ramses” job (same thing over and over) where I didn’t have much respect for a much more fulfilling and rewarding job. It’s not full time but it’s more professional so I am more committed to them time wise than I was at my previous job. I am so much happier.

Similar but still different to your situation

I hear what you're saying. But I'm also for sure unhappy now...and MAYBE I would be happy in the new job...?

Best Bubby, it’s funny you’re saying that because before I switched jobs I was listening to shiurim and I determined that I need to do my hishtadlus and get out of my comfort zone and leave the rest up to Hashem. I’m so happy I did. we are in this world to grow, not be stagnant.

I hear you.

But a working mother can't risk having a stressful job.

And this type of cushy job is not so easy to find...
