I am teaching a regents subjects and another subject in high school. It kinda worked out because originally I started there mid year and got my foot in the door.
Whenever I tell people I teach in a HS, I get "wow! " "I couldn't do it!" "You must be so smart " it makes me feel proud. Maybe too proud.
I guess because I have low self confidence I like this feeling. Even though I have difficulty with classroom management. BH my students manage to learn. And enjoy .

I taught in high school for a few years, I loved those ages. And hs kids need teachers who love being there so enjoy!!
Smartclassroommanagement.com and Teach Like a Champion (book) were good resources for me

I would be one of those people. Public speaking makes me nervous and also kids can be a tough audience. Kol hakavod to you!
