Check the phone book if you can find the matching first name and call.
It’s possible they stopped the card.

call the number on the back, and tell them you found it. they'll disable the card and call the account holder.

Honestly I wouldn't even bother trying to find the owner. Its not the same as money where it has value on its own-rather just destroy it so no one can use it other that the original owner who can request a new one when they find its missing.

You could have asked her for a siman.
Like which color or company it is.

Only on one - that I use for my online shopping..

It’s happened before that I realized I lost a CC but wouldn’t be able to give any numbers on it as a siman…

(I would be able to describe it by color , bank name etc …)

To clarify- I’m not saying that OP should just return the card to this woman. My point is that the OP seemed to be sure that the woman was trying to steal someone else’s card….not necessarily.
