Looking for a bathing suit for my toddler. I'm seeing some with rash gaurds. Whats the purpose of rash gaurd? Is it common for 5 year old girls to have this, or is regular bathing suit better?

I do 2 piece rash guards. Easy to use the bathroom and less sunburn risk. Tons of kids wear these now. My 5 year old daughter doesn't even have a regular bathing suit. She prefers long sleeve rash guard tops

I seek them out for my preschooler. I get the short sleeves so it's not so hot, but it really makes sunscreen application easier and more pleasant when they have more coverage.

Another fan here. Less likely that my very fair skinned toddler will burn and less sunscreen to wrestle onto her.

I get them for my kids too - boys and girls. Not sure what the frum world does but we were at the beach last year and many many children were wearing them- both young and older.
