I had covid over two years ago and my smell barely came back. whatever smell did come back is so off and distorted. its also effecting my taste. I can taste sweet salty bitter and sour but no flavors. the only way I can tell the difference between chocolate vanilla and coffee is based on their sweetness. anyway I tried smell training and it didnt work. until recently I was very accepting of this lost sense of smell even though it impacted my life in a big way. now I'm starting to get frustrated and it's hard for me to come to terms with the fact that it may just be like this for the rest of my life. is there anything else I can do besides for smell training?

Same. My family on here will probably think you’re me except I didn’t even try smell training.

Daven.
Seriously Daven. And as much as possible believe that HaShem can (easier to believe) and will (much harder to believe) restore your sense of smell.

I have no good suggestions, but letting you know you’re not alone. For me it’s been 1.5 years, distorted smell and taste. I see some slight improvements over time. I tried smell therapy off and on. I daven. Some days it really gets me down.

1 year for me. I can eat some things now which I couldn't so yay! Keep trying foods. I am eating eggs now which I couldn't eat for a long time. Lots of spices/sauces help.
