Where do you light your Shabbos candles?
On the table?
On a shelf?
In a glass box?
Inside a cabinet/breakfront?
Other?

how does it work for you?

On the table. Family is still small we don't need all the seats yet.

My parents have it on side table.

My IL have it on table, pushed in to accommodate the 'foot of the table seat' and cut out the plastic so it can be removed on shabbos after the meal. It is a hassle to remember, and the crumbs fall beneath the slit.

Nice I am not the only paranoid one, I go to houses with a lot of small children and they are lighting on the table. I am freaking out with all the kids running around.

Shabbat candle board that's mounted on the wall at grown-up eye height.
I asked dh to install it after one time our challah dekel on the table caught fire from the candles that were next to it.

You aren't paranoid at all. It's common sense and it should go without saying that candles must be put in a SAFE place where kids can't reach.
Apparently some people think candles, fire and small children make an excellent combination Can't Believe It

Same.

I have a q. We accidentally some Olive Oil that is not EVO so is technically not kosher. I was wanting to change from using candles to oil. Do you think I can use it to light? It's a really really big can.

Can you pour some into a smaller squeeze bottle? To help with the pouring.

. Good point.

I mean maybe the mistake was Gd's way of getting me started on switching to oil. We even tried to give the oil to a collection at the supermarket for poor people, and discovered that they dont have the collection boxes any more.

Also have a shelf up high that we had a handyman install, I need to stand on a low stool to reach it well altho dh can reach from ground. Also did it after one of those 7 day candles was knocked over while lit on a different surface, def feel safer w a designated candle shelf.
