Hi all,

I need your opinion/advice.....

I need to order something and it comes from China. When I tried to check out I saw that the method of payment they have is only bank transfer or Western Union, or bitcoin. I found it sketchy because Ali/Shein/ and many other websites have regular methods of payment like-cc/debit.

I sent them an email and this is how they responded:

"Thanks for your email, this design have, 20% discount if pay by bank transfer or bitcoin. These 4 days is festival here, you can pay after two days, thanks."

Would you pay through Western Union or it's not safe?

I am afraid that they will get my money and never send the item....

It's $300, so I'm afraid to risk.

Anyone has paid throuhg Western Union in the past?

Your gut instinct is correct. There is no way that this is legitimate. Find a different source for your product. (If it's more expensive elsewhere that's another tipoff that this is a scam.)

I have paid through Western Union but only with reliable suppliers that I know send merchandise when they receive payment.

I don't know what you are buying but it is not out of the ordinary for some Chinese sellers to only take Western Union because they run the risk of not getting paid with PayPal for a variety of reasons including the buyer raising a claim - there is fraud on both sides.

Also if this item is any kind of replica item, PayPal can close down their account and they will lose everything in their PayPal account.

I can't advise on the specific website because I know nothing about it. I personally would not wire money to an unknown source. But I have done so based upon recommendations from people I know - e.g. not anonymous sources on the internet.

Nope! I once asked if a Chinese manufacturer would take PayPal which he agreed, but PayPal was guaranteed. If he agrees to that or a credit card then fine, otherwise no way.
