please.

I just moved into a new home and would really love to get one. I grew up fantasizing that we'd get one like all the other neighbors but my parents would never.

I always love the smell, taste and idea of outdoor BBQ grill food. I see literally all my neighbors have one too.

First how do I shop for one? I'm looking to spend in the $350 Range. is that reasonable? What do I need to know about it?

And are there any tricks to keeping it clean? Anything bad about having one?

TIA!

If you're asking me skip the gas grill and go for a charcoal weber kettle grill (under $150)
Food tastes better. Easier cleanup. No scary gas grill flare ups. Last longer than any gas grill I've ever had (they always break except maybe the really expensive ones in the thousands of dollars).

Get a chimney starter to start the charcoal. Costs like 20 bucks makes it super easy to start the charcoal (NEVER use the one with lighter fluid just regular briquettes). Fill with charcoal. Stuff aome newspaper in the bottom. Light the newspaper. Go prepare your meat. Come back. Pour out the charocal onto one side. Put on the top grate and grill!

You have a direct and indirect side with a charcoal grill and youcook on both sides. The direct side (right over the coals) is super hot. Much hotter than any gas grill and great for searing. The other side is more gentle cooking. Sear on one side and transfer to other to finish cooking. Or start on indirect and sear at end. Or combination of both.

If you have Instagram I have some instructional video ony page on using charcoal. (@homegrownkosher) If not feel free to ask me questions here and I'll try to answer.

Personally I like a propane grill way better than charcoal. Food takes faster to cook and it's a very easy start up. I use mine all the time. I have a Weber that is already 12 years old. If I bought a new one I would probably want to run a gas line and buy a gas one. I don't know about other companies.
