What would be a sturdy one that doesn’t break easily?

I too gave my kids china and stemware from a young age.
We've replaced lots of stemware over the years. I found that the adults broke just as many, if not more, as the kids broke.
LOL my current set of stemware is the same as the one asmileaday posted.
(I used to use Mikasa glasses - the Park Lane set I think. I found that they had an area of vulnerability in the stem and alot of them cracked right there. My current set seems to be more durable.)

I don't even own stemware anymore except for a silver becher. Stemware takes up way too much space for my cabinets and is too prone to breakage even if made of thick sturdy glass.

I don’t have stemware except for wine glasses (and my kids don’t drink wine) We do use glass drinking glasses (we have 2 sizes, tall and short) and I let my kids drink from short beginning at age 4 or so. Same with China

My kids got the same as adults from about 3. I don't make a big deal if they break though

Age 10 is when we do glass and china by us. We don't do stemware except for wine, and it still makes me nervous. We use fairly low centered ones. Kids below age 10 get nice hard plastic disposable cups and nice plastic plates (both from Costco), unless they bite their cup- then they get whatever they use during the week.

I always use China and glass cups. Stemware as well. My 2 year old gets the same as everyone else. They know how to treat them properly and I've broken more than my kids.

My kids 4+ get shabbos china and glasses, but they are not stemmed.
On pesach our glasses are stemmed and only ages 10+used then, only for sedorim. It made me too nervous.

I set china and stemware for all my kids.
I think kids eat more carefully when using real dishes/cutlery/stemware....I always feel bad for kids that have to use plastic while the rest of the family eats with China...
When my kids go to places and they get plastic settings, they always feel bad! (though of course I tell them it's up to the host and not to make a big deal out of it...)

We don't use any stemware except for on Pesach. Even our Kiddush cup is not stemmed.

Starting from age 2 or so, my kids get the real stuff. They take it seriously because I tell them it's only for bigger children who I can trust to be careful

Age 2? Wow!! My 2 year old was in a highchair today spilling and throwing things and making a mess. Can’t imagine giving him glass or crystal stemware
