Will it save me $ or cause me to spend?
Family of five-three kids under 8.
What do you buy there? Are they better priced? What might they have better prices on?
Is gold stars membership good enough? Ty!

If you get a membership hey the one that at least gives u cashback. It always pays for my membership even more sometimes. I go once a month. We don't keep cholov yisroel so things are significantly cheaper. I find shopping less often saves me money. So I like Costco. I don't think I would live without Costco. But go in once tell them u want to look around and you'll see if you'll find it useful.

They say 2% rewards. I would need to spend $6000 a year in order to get back the $120…
I really don’t want to have to spend that much 😬
Do they have any good deals on oil? Paper goods? Pans? Windex? Eggs? Chicken? Salmon?

Also do they have a order on the app, bring it to your car option? Like target drive up?

U would need to spend only 3k as the regular membership is $60 anyway.
In terms of what's good, their paper towels and toilet paper are good quality. So are their plastic cutlery. If u buy bottled water it's much cheaper. Many more examples as well

I would not shop in store as you will find yourself spending hundreds more than you want to. Trust me! Better shop in costco through instacart . I love their super fresh produce. Oil. Cutlery. Maple syrup. Cy Shredded cheese . Dried organic mango. Tissues and so much more

I have 6 kids kah so maybe we use more quantity but here’s what I’ve priced to be much more of a savings than target/walmart

Off the top of my head here’s some

Detergent
Water bottles
9x13 pans- best quality
Coffee
Great Produce!
Garbage bags
Cleaning supplies
Some snacks (chips, pringles, Oreos, nuts)
Soaps, shampoos, toothpaste, mouthwash
Paper towels
Tissues
Kosher cheeses
Meal mart pastrami

Some of the above I use Kirkland brand and am happy with it.
They sometimes of great sales making pricing even better.

I have not renewed our membership after nont shopping there since covid and bingo opening up.

What I liked when we did go:
Formula
Diapers
Wipes
Detergent (washer, dishwasher)
Garbage bags
Melon
Salmon
Deli
Cholov yisroel cheese
Splenda
Cereal (not much of a selection and sometimes bigger boxes)

Also small household appliances that if you had a problem they'd stand behind.

Really depends on what your family needs. We are a family of 5 and just have the basic membership. Where I live Costco currently has the best price on kosher chicken (cutlets are 5.49lb vs close to 9lb) and always on kosher cheese.
