I know. I know. I like to follow the Jones. Can someone please send me links to classic wall art that is trending currently in Lakewood? General wall pieces and specifically for above my gray leather couch. Also what plant/flowers are people putting on their dinette tables these days?

First of all, if you are "following the Jones" you will need to switch out your gray couch, because gray couches are out for 2022. But if you are looking to Match your wall art and flowers to those of your neighbors, me thinks you have bigger problems...

I didn’t realize how terribly outdated my living room is… I mean I knew it wasn’t modern but I guess it would be a real eyesore with my old dark brown fake leather couch and the painting of some sort of fruit bowl… oh well

Wall art: Jewish stuff like yaeli vogel

Plants: whatever you want. Really, anything goes.

(My living room is not typical- we have artwork handed down from relatives and that we bought in the old city in Israel, as well as real plants, a non gray couch, and walls painted an actual color… but from what I’ve seen at my neighbors what I posted above is “in.” Probably because it’s easily and commonly found.)

If you look at design magazines color is in - retail stores generally only stock very safe colors - cream, gray, brown and navy because it limits the cost so it is a self perpetuating cycle since people only see certain colors and therefore buy those colors.

If you are buying a couch that will last a decade ignore trends and buy something classic that you can update with pillows and accessories. And something well made and comfortable.

Here are rooms with gray sofas - but what a gorgeous use of color the designers used so there is nothing "boring" about the rooms.

I did a really unique look in my living room that blends the aesthetic look of my dining room for a special cohesive look. I did a stunning white (!) couch with gold accents. the material is washable. Did two green velvet and white swivel arm chairs also with gold accents and some green velvet throw pillows on the sofa couch pulling it all together for an exquisite look. My dining room chairs are green, off white and gold brocade so the whole look is visually pleasing to the eye. also added a very different looking end table and matching coffee table. I had my living room designed at Dina's by Living Quarters. Highly recommend! They have a large unique collection of all sorts of living room decor, wall art , accent pieces etc. and are so so helpful.

I live OOT and the whole gray and navy thing is still in style (I think!!)
I just bought beautiful navy accent chairs with gold legs and was hoping to do a gray (reclining bec my husband really wants) couc with blue and gray pillows to tie it together. I also have quite a few boys so can’t have anything too delicate…
Debating about getting a rug bec it’s also the room you walk into(no hallway or entryway).
Any suggestions for affordable curtains/drapes?
Currently have the ones that came with the house on a rod- 3 windows across.

I have a silvery gray couch with jewel green arm chairs. I have the white and gold kosel painting. And a mixed metals colored rug. Gold floor lamp.

No leather!! Get fabric . Mine is washable and I just use a wipe to clean stains.
