I just noticed that the way OP asked the question it might be that she’s considering to do that and wants our opinion. I vote no.

My father would love this idea lol. I have a feeling men would think this is fine and some women would think it’s weird. I personally would think it’s smart and couldn’t care less about these types of details. Paper invitations are slowly phasing out anyway.

We sent our Bar Mitzvah invitation by email and whatsapp. Only paid for someone to design it.

I'd think:

1. Wow! 2 smachot in one family so close together! What mazal!
2. It must be difficult for them to plan everything.
3. How nice of them to invite me to both smachot.
4. Good idea saving on postage!

You might want to put each invitation in it's own envelope, then send them together in one larger cover envelope. That would be clear that it was intended this way, but you would still save on stamps.

I agree. The past few bar mitzvas I've been invited to have all been electronic invitations. But I suppose it depends on your circles and whether people are online.

We're sending our bar mitzva invitation by whatsapp and designing it ourselves. Pretty easy with all the graphics options available on even the most basic programs.
But then I also designed and self-printed our wedding invitations back in pre-smartphone days, so I guess that's just my style.

If I got two cards in one envelope, I'd probably think they had accidentally put in two of the same same invitation. There's a good chance one wouldn't get noticed.

Where I live, wedding and bar mitzvah invitations are almost exclusively electronic.

I dunno if I would do it, but I wouldn’t care if I received it that way and I wouldn’t assume it’s a mistake! If I’m invited to one, likely I’d be close enough to be invited to the other.
