Depends in which circles. Monsey isn't specific enough since there are all types. I know my 10th grade sister wouldn't be caught dead in a fanny pack

Chassidish. Old monsey area. I was told that a Fanny pack is rather for a 9th grade girl, my sil is graduating already.

Go for crossbody that is dressier and more grown up if for a graduation gift.
