Does anyone give their teen girls vitamins? Therapist suggested vitamin d ; sometimes teens with depression/anxiety have low vitamin d. So I am looking for good quality kosher vitamins and wondering if I should just give multivitamin instead.

Dont give multivitamins. They are useless, will typicaly have too little of the vitamin you need. Vitamin d is a goood choice. Magnesium is also a good mood stabilizer.

Do you see a difference?
If yes, how long did you use it before you saw a difference?
How much of each are you using? Is it instead of medicine or in addition?
Sorry for all the questions but I'm very interested in the subject! Wink

I've used some of these for low mood and found it very helpful.

Wearing long sleeves and sunscreen prevents vitamin D absorption, so a supplement is essential.

Populational studies suggest that vitamin D supplementation lowers the risk of multiple sclerosis and Parkinson's disease, so all my family takes a vit D supplement (800 -1000 units, depending on the age ).

Instead of medication. I take about 500mg of magnesium spread throughout the day, 1 Thorne basic b in the morning, Gaba and l theanine mornings, 5htp before bed. Do not take 5htp if you’re taking an Ssri, you run the risk of serotonin syndrome. I also take cbd and keep my diet clean.

Thank you so much for the responses! This is all so stressful.
So I will get her vitamin d. Brand preference?
How do I know how much to give?

1000 mg is good. I like zahlers. They come in a chewable form and taste good.
