OMG! OMG!
Okay forgetting the cliffhanger...
Anyone have thought and feelings on Asher's story?
Honestly, I'm annoyed that the subtitles said Hebrew when it was Yiddish.
But overall I think it did a decent job at the capturing the difficulty of the situation.

I thought it was decent too, considering how chassidish people are generally portrayed, but also fairly innacurate. The way they called him "Asher," rather than Usher, the mother's hat/fall on Friday night - that was not a chassidish look. Small things that indicate they did not have the guidance of someone who really knows the nuances. On the other hand, it wasn't nearly as ridiculous as some other shows have been.
I also liked how they showed that Asher was at fault too, and not just his parents. That it's not as simple as, "Love me for who I am, no matter what I do..." And they ended it quite nicely. Overall a very decent portrayal.
