So my 6.5 yr old ds has adhd. He’s currently medicated on focalin. From the time he was little he would prefer to walk on all fours like an animal (not walk but more like run on all fours, like a cheetah would do). When he is medicated he doesn’t do this but when the meds wear off, or early in the morning before we give them, he is constantly getting around the house like this. It is so weird. Wondering if anyone has any insight?

All I can think of right now is that Focalin works on dopamine and dopamine is heavily involved in motor planning.

Have you ever checked to see if he has low muscle tone or an orthopedic issue? It sounds like a physical issue. Most ADHD kids don't do this.
