Teen DD convinced me to buy my preschooler oxford style lace up shoes for Shabbos. While they are very fashionable this season, I totally forgot why I don't like lace up shoes for Shabbos. How can I keep those shoes tied in a halachically acceptable way, while still using dressy Shabbosdik shoelaces?

I thought that there is no issue making a double knot if it will be untied that day.

Buy elastic laces and keep them double knotted.

When you put the “ears” through, put them through twice before pulling tight.

Yep. A friend of mine calls this the Morah Knot. It works, at least with flat laces. I never tried it with the skinny round ones.

Are the shoe laces round? If they are switch them to flat ones. Round shoe laces are one of the dumbest things ever invented, they don't work.
