We're in the process of designing and planning to build a pool. We will need income from renting it. Any other ideas to get income from it is definitely appreciated.

My main question is:
What would make you choose my pool over others when you rent one?

Also, as a family enjoying your pool if you own one, what do you wish your pool had?

Speaking as Who regularly rents on swimply…
1- privacy
2- pool toys for kids
3- floaties for kids
4- spare goggles
5- nice and fully stocked shower area
6- towels are a bonus (so you don’t have to shlep home wet towels)
7- reasonable price. My family regularly rents a pool for $60/hr on swimply. Bc I feel it’s affordable, we go fairly often.

Privacy- make sure not visible from neighbors homes. The windows of your homes facing tre pool should all have shades.

I rent pools often.
I would never go back to a place if the grounds aren't nice. It doesn't need to be super fancy but if there is grass, it should be cut and the pavement should not be crumbling.
Comfortable lounge chairs and a variety of tubes etc. are great.

A slide is a huge plus and so much fun if we can get it.
Also a place where one can get dressed is great.

Thanks for the responses. Any idea that I can keep in mind while building is even more appreciated. For example privacy which means a taller fence should be taken into consideration when planning.

A bathroom would be amazing!

A mini fridge/freezer would be nice for drinks and ices

Personally for me, I always inquire about the shallow, because many pools have a shallow end that is not really so shallow and the 6 or 7 year olds can't really stand comfortably except for the steps.

A normal toilet is an absolute must.

And shallow water with stairs to sit on for little kids.

If it's heated, barbecue, hot tub, pool toys, very private, pool chairs. Bathrooms and changing room
Just know it might not be the best idea to build a pool knowing you need to get income from it to make it work....

We have a pool that we recently redid. I’ll list some amenities we have that people come back for

Complete privacy with no windows overlooking the pool (we lucked out with that due to the way our house was built)
Bathroom on premises (a porta potty that gets cleaned at least once a week is good enough)
A saltwater system
A very good filter so that the water is always crystal clear (get a better filter than what’s recommended for your size pool)
Steps
A clean area with nice landscaping
Enough changing rooms
Enough lounge chairs
A grill on premises

We also have a freezer stocked with ice pops and ice cream at an additional charge - people love that

What we would love to get in the future:
A hot tub
A water slide

I'm surprised by those mentioning a grill. I wouldn't feel comfortable using it having no way of knowing who's used it in the past.

I prefer flush toilets and running water to properly wash hands. Why is that weird?
Maybe some people don't care, but to me, that's important.
(Anyway even a regular bathroom at a pool should be cleaned daily, between visitors. Once a week is not really adequate, imo.)
