My sons white shorts have food oil stains that won’t come off.
I tried
- putting dishwashing soap (the original) on the stains and scrub with an old toothbrush and let it sit for a while
- baking soda on stains for maybe an hour not sure
- multipurpose oxi clean spray on the stains also left for a while
😣
The material is 97% cotton 3% lycra
And it says wash up till 30 degrees
not to soak.
Not to bleach
to wash inside out hang to dry (I never put the shorts or any shorts in the dryer)
Pretty desperate here

I’d use dawn specifically and don’t put in dryer.

St. Moritz degreaser spray.
Work with gloves and mask.
Spray generously. Let it sit for a few hours. Wash as usual.
No kids around when you work with a degreaser!!!
I've done this with very fatty stains on tablecloths and washed in cold water. Zero stains left.

I find many times that the washing instructions for clothes just say the "safest" option but you really could soak it or whatever. If its mostly cotton, I wouldn't risk using warm water. But I would totally soak it (unless there is something about it that would obviously get ruined) or at the very least let a generous amount of dawn sit for a day or so.

Did the clothes go in the dryer before you noticed the stains?

I can’t get anything else
I spent the last I had on the clorox color safe bleach.
I tried
Clorox color safe bleach on the stains for 6+ hours (I did see improvement but it’s not completely gone.
Pine sole liquid
I washed the shorts after a while each try. On cold
Should I try hot?

I would soak and baby it for days. Do you want instructions?

Run the garment under water to get it fully wet. Lay it flat in a clean basin. Put some Dawn dish soap on the palms of your hands and spread and rub the soap into the stains. Let sit 15 minutes. Scrub at the stain with a soft cleaning toothbrush. Add some more Dawn (not directly on fabric - rub together on palms and the rub into stain). Let sit another 15 minutes and scrub. Run garment under water again and re-treat. Let sit overnight laying flat in the clean basin (garment should be wet enough to stay wet throughout).
Scrub out stains with a soft cleaning toothbrush in the AM. Rinse and check to make sure stain is out, otherwise start again and treat for another day.
Once stain is out, rinse soap out completely (suds hurt HE washing machines). Then put the wet shirt into the washing machine and wash as usual.

Scrub the stain with Lestoil using a toothbrush. Lestoil can even get out stains that have been set in the dryer. You might have to do it a second time if it doesn't come out the first time, but it works 99% of the time. Just be aware that Lestoil has a very strong odor, so you may wish to wash the item a few times to get the smell out.
ETA: Lestoil is a household cleaning product, not a laundry product.

I'm in Israel and I have some clothing with stains are not coming up. Is that something that they sell here? I'm not familiar with it. Is it something that you find in at cleaning aisle or something else?

Sorry, I forgot to mention that Lestoil is a household cleaning product, not a laundry product. I’m not sure if you can get it is aisrael. Even here in America it can be hard to find. But it really works.
