Never prepared the whole salmon side wanted to know how it gets sliced after cooking?
Is it easier to prepare when sliced in advance?
what are your experiences if you had tried both?
thank you,

I think it looks nicer when it’s brought to the table as a whole side of salmon. I put it out with a fork/spoon and ppl just take however much they want. Like break it off from the side of salmon.

Its hard to slice the salmon nicely once cooked.
Most people make a whole side specifically for the presentation and then just divide it into portions by the table.

The whole side of salmon does look beautiful for presenting, and is served family style.
If I need to slice the salmon, I partially freeze and then slice (or if frozen slice after thaws enough to slice neatly and thinly).
