Just wondering if this is the typical setup when your child is in therapy. Every 4th week the therapist wants to have a full session with just the parents. I feel like a 10/15 min phone call would be just as beneficial, but she doesn’t want to do this. Curious to hear what others have done or do when their child is in therapy.

I had the same. We did find it helpful, though I don't think it was that often.

There are different styles in therapy. Some child therapist have the child and parent together at every session. Others meet every 4th session. They do it for a few reasons. 1)the 10-15 minute update often takes longer. 2)they want to have the parents perspective, feedback and then process and plan with parents to help with the child.
