I currently work for YVY in boro park, pay rate is $62

Do you mind posting other agencies and what the rate is?
Looking to switch for next year.

Ill travel to BK/Queens/Far Rockaway.

Doesn't have to be Jewish.

Why don't you switch to doe? Now through mid-august is when they are hiring.

I don't know of any. But if an agency offers you a higher rate than that, make sure to clarify if it is a 1099 or W2. If it's a 1099 you are not necessarily gonna come out ahead.

You want to know how much they are offering in Florida? $46! With a 1099. (Can't find anything for more than $50 in my part of the world)...

Just do independent contractor but you need to do all the paperwork yourself.

Bad advice. That is why I wrote in my previous post that she should make sure it is not 1099. There are pros to being on a W2. I know therapists who regretted doing independent contractor.

With experience, you can get up to $75. Go on the SLP Facebook groups where agencies routinely post positions all over the tristate. Search around

When I go on nygov website the application is from 2018-2019....

I'd give the DOE a phone call to find out. Yes, you'll probably be put on hold for an hour. That's the way it goes with these places, I've dealt with the DOE in 2 other states. They're a pain to get through in person. But, once someone actually picks up, you can get the latest info needed about how to apply/find the paperwork and fill out and submit. Generally once you get a live person on the phone in these places, they are very knowledgeable about the process and are helpful.

My advice, put it on speaker phone while you are on hold so you can so something while you are waiting. Have a list of questions ready. Make sure you have pen and paper to make notes. Don't call around lunchtime! Either midmorning or mid-afternoon. Be prepared to spend at least an hour on this. You have to be willing to be persistent with this type of thing. Hopefully it will pay off in the long run.

This is a good idea, but if you are a DOE employee you don’t have a flexible schedule. If that’s ok with you, do it! Get the benefits and pension after 20 years. It takes awhile to apply and be considered so get on this now!
